How To Put Out Campfire In Minecraft
A campfire is a cake that can be used to melt food, pacify bees, act equally a spread-proof light source, fume signal or damaging trap block.
A soul campfire is a dimmer variant of the campfire with turquoise flames. Soul campfires bargain more than damage than normal campfires.
Obtaining [ ]
Breaking [ ]
Campfires can be mined with whatever tool, or without a tool, only axes are the fastest. A regular campfire drops 2 charcoal, a soul campfire drops soul soil, and either 1 besides drops whatsoever items placed on it. If mined with a tool enchanted with Silk Touch, the campfire instead drops itself as an item.
In Bedrock Edition, either kind of bivouac can besides be broken by pushing it with a piston or sticky piston. Pistons cannot move or break campfires in Java Edition.

Natural generation [ ]
Campfires can generate in taiga and snowy taiga [ Exist only ] villages.
Campfires likewise generate in camps inside ancient cities, beneath a pile of blue, light blue and cyan wool blocks.

---|---|---|
Campfire | Stick + Coal or Charcoal + Any Log or Stem or Whatsoever Stripped Log or Stem or Whatsoever Woods or Hyphae or Whatever Stripped Woods or Hyphae | |
Soul Bivouac | Stick + Soul Sand or Soul Soil + Any Log or Stem or Whatsoever Stripped Log or Stem or Any Forest or Hyphae or Any Stripped Wood or Hyphae |
Trading [ ]
In Bedrock Edition, apprentice-level fisherman villagers take a 50% chance of selling a campfire for 5 emeralds.
In Java Edition, apprentice-level fisherman villagers accept a 2⁄3 chance of selling a campfire for 2 emeralds.
Usage [ ]
Lit campfires emit a light level of 15 and lit soul campfires emit a light level of 10. Unlike fire, campfires exercise not spread nether whatever circumstances.
Campfires are lit past default when placed. Campfires tin exist manually lit past using or dispensing flint and steel on them, shooting it with a flaming pointer, or using or dispensing fire charges, blaze fireballs, and ghast fireballs when /gamerule mobgriefing
is truthful. In Boulder Edition, campfires can besides be lit by using an item enchanted with fire attribute, or stepping on it while burning.
Campfires can be extinguished by waterlogging it (placing water in the aforementioned block space), throwing a splash h2o bottle on it, or using a shovel on it. In Bedrock Edition, campfires can also be extinguished by placing a water source or allowing water to menses in the space in a higher place the bivouac. As with torches, rain does non extinguish campfires.[1]
Using flintstone and steel on the side of a waterlogged or lit campfire sets the adjacent air block on fire instead.
Any items cooking on a campfire e'er drop when the campfire block is broken.
Particles and fume signals [ ]
Campfires produce smoke particles that float up around 10 blocks before disappearing. If a hay bale is placed beneath, the campfire becomes a bespeak fire and the fume floats upwards 24 blocks instead.
Bivouac smoke particles can partially pass through a cake directly above it, only do non pass through blocks more than one cake direct above it.
Although a trap door is thinner than a slab, a trap door can block the smoke completely, preventing the smoke from floating up.
Campfires emit extra smoke particles during rain, similar to lava.
Campfires as well emit occasional ember particles, similarly to lava. Soul campfires do non emit embers because they are blue.[2]
Impairment [ ]
Campfires damage mobs continuing on pinnacle of them even if underwater (with exceptions such every bit shulkers, zombified piglins or guardians), but just if lit, campfires bargain one and soul campfires deal two of harm every tick (although damage amnesty reduces this to in one case every half-second). It also adds 160 fire ticks (eight seconds of burning).[ Bedrock Edition just ] In Java Edition, campfires do non cause lasting burning or destroy items. Harm taken is considered fire damage and is reduced by armor (which loses durability), the Resistance potion effects, and the Protection and Fire Protection enchantments. The player can avoid beingness damaged at all, either by using a potion of fire resistance or wearing Frost Walker boots. Crouching on a campfire too prevents damage.[ Bedrock Edition only ] In Bedrock Edition, campfires exercise not cause armor pieces to lose durability while the player is standing on it. [ needs testing ]
Regardless of superlative, all blocks prevent harm done to mobs or players above campfires. The bivouac deals damage simply to entities occupying its cake.
Cooking [ ]
The player can place raw food on a lit campfire past using the food detail on it. Up to 4 food items can exist placed on a single campfire, which cooks the items simultaneously. Dissimilar other blocks that can cook food, campfires do not require any kind of fuel to melt. On a bivouac, foods produce small smoke particles, indicating they are being cooked. Food items have 30 seconds (600 ticks) to melt, compared to ten seconds for furnaces or 5 seconds for smokers. Bold that one uses all iv slots to cook at once, the Campfire is, therefore, more than efficient than furnaces (taking 10 seconds less per 4 items and no fuel) for cooking, but must be watched so equally to choice up the food and refill it once it is done. It is slower than a smoker by about ten seconds, just its lack of fuel consumption could exist seen as a worthwhile trade-off. Once finished cooking, items pop off the campfire. If the campfire is extinguished while cooking food, information technology resets equally if it had non been cooked at all. Food items can be placed on an unlit campfire.
Other items can be placed on campfires using external editors, mods or add together-ons.
Hoppers [ ]
Campfires do not have an external inventory. Raw food cannot be loaded into the campfire with a hopper.
A hopper placed directly underneath a campfire pulls through whatsoever items dropped into the campfire. Whatever drops from a mob that dies in the campfire go pulled into the hopper.
Bees [ ]
Placing a campfire under a beehive or bee nest allows players to harvest honey bottles or honeycomb without provoking the bees. There must be unobstructed air between the campfire and the beehive or bee nest. Carpets are an exception.[ Java Edition just ]
Piglins [ ]
Lit soul campfires repel piglins that are not currently attacking. This occurs when the piglin is within an viii block radius of the soul campfire.
Lite source [ ]
Standard lit campfires emit a light level of 15, while soul campfires emit a light level of 10. Like virtually other sources of light, campfires cook nearby snow and water ice. Due to their lower low-cal level, soul campfires do not melt snowfall or ice.
Note blocks [ ]
Campfires can be placed under notation blocks to produce "bass" sounds.
Converting soul sand to soul soil [ ]
Soul campfires can exist used to convert soul sand into soul soil. If a soul campfire is crafted using soul sand, placed, and then cleaved without Silk Bear on, that soul campfire drops soul soil.[three]
Piston interactivity [ ]
In Boulder Edition, pushing a campfire or soul bivouac with a piston or gummy piston breaks it. Dissimilar other methods, breaking with a piston drops only ane charcoal instead of two. Campfires cannot be pulled by sticky pistons.
In Java Edition, pistons do not interact with campfires. Campfires neither move nor break when pushed or pulled by pistons.
